NEXT STEP

On Wednesday evening, May 17th, we received a rough draft of our homestudy in our e-mail inbox! Wow, this is coming to an end! After proofing, and re-proofing, it was sent back and forth to our social worker, Catherine Richardson. On Fridayh, May 19th, we received a notarized copy of our homestudy. All I can say is, WOW! It covers every aspect of our life! It's basically a 9 page essay about our lives.

On Monday, May 22nd we fedexed our I600A (application for advanced processing of orphan petition) to the USCIS. Now we wait. Again. We anxiously await an appointment to be fingerprinted (to run an FBI check on us), and then will await the I171H that will grant us approval from the USCIS to bring our daughter home!

I'm so glad that we have gotten this far, but I am really anxious to have AbbyGrace home!

IT'S OVER! (sorta)

At 10:06 am on Saturday, May 6, 2006, our doorbell rang. It was the fedex man. Our final document arrived! It was the final piece of documentation need to be sent to our social worker to write our home study. At 12:08 pm, these documents were officially out of our hands and on their way to our social worker. The paper chase is finally over.

Ever wonder what it takes to comlete a home study? Well here it is!
So, what's included?
105 pages of very personal, intimidating, personal, financial, personal, physical, personal, probing, personal information. Did I mention personal? And this isn't the home study, this is just supporting documents for the homestudy!
